The UBC Pre-Jerome was a success once again. The club's performances were Heather Slinn in the 800 m, going 2:14.37, Nigel Hole's 800 m PB of 1:50.81, Shane Carlos running 1:55.94 in the 800 m, Kirsten Lee's 1,500 m PB, 5:04.36, and Carey Nelson breaking 4:20 in the 1,500 m, clocking 4:19.79.


We were also happy to organzie a last-minute beer garden. Thanks to Ryan Huff for putting in so much time and effort to make this happen.


UBC Pre-Jerome results


The Jerome produced some outstanding performances. UBC Thunderbird Maria Bernard ran a big PB of 4:21.45 in the 1,500 m National section, taking third. Point Grey's Heather Slinn clocked a new PB of 4:35.71 in that race too.


Then just minutes after, Devan Wiebe ran a huge PB and World Juniors qualifying mark of 2:06.59 in the 800 m.


Luc Bruchet then PB'd in the 1,500 m, clocking 3:47.70, while Nigel Hole came in at 3:50.84, and unfortunately Jordan Smith DNF'd.


Harry Jerome International results


In Victoria, Samuel Pawluk, fresh off a 14:26 5,000 m effort last Saturday at the Portland Track Festival, and Ben Thistlewood ran the 5,000 m again, but did not fare as well as hoped, Sam DNFing after ~2,400 m, and Thistlewood coming in at 15:13.


Luc Bruchet continued his hot streak, winning his 1,500 m section in 3:49.40, his second-best lifetime performance. Jordan Smith ran 4:04.91 also.


Heather Slinn improved her 1,500 m time to 4:34.16, while Sabrina Wilkie clocked 4:45.09.


Devan Wiebe ran a new PB of 2:05.92 in the 800 m, and is now a virtual lock for a spot on the World Juniors team this summer.


In the men's top 1,500 m section, Nigel Hole ran 3:50.60.
