Recap – University Invite 2010

Sept. 2, 2010 – Greeley, CO – 2 miles The University boys (3A preseason #8 coaches poll) dominated the competition, putting three in the top five. Garrett Coles won the individual title to pace the way for UH. University placed 8th at least year’s state meet, and only lost one senior off that squad, but return their #1, 2, 3, 4, 6 from that meet. For the girls, the individual race was led by Mercy Bowen (Brush) most of the way. Shelby Brow (Erie) began the race around tenth just before the mile, then moved her way up into contention. Bowen and Brow neared the finish chute side-by-side, with Brow edging ahead for the victory over the final twenty meters. Mackenzie Eberhart (Erie) also finished in the top five, as Erie won the team title. Erie moved up to 4A this year after finishing 9th at state last year in
