It normally takes a week or two for a measure of stability to settle into the polls. Maybe it takes even longer this year.

While there were some dramatic changes to the rankings from last week's preseason poll, the coaches are not yet convinced that all of the results represent true changes of the order. Perhaps most notable among these wait-and-see situations is the fact that Boulder remains ranked ahead of Monarch in the 5A girls poll.

And a good deal of the skepticism there could reside in the fact that Kelsey Lakowske was not running for Boulder on opening weekend.
