Cougars Combine For Fourth Place at NAIA Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. The Cal State San Marcos cross country teams placed fourth in the combined team award after both squads collected seventh place finishes at the 2014 NAIA National Cross Country Championships. Senior Kate Bouvatte and freshman Natalie Rodriguez along with junior Steven Ing and freshman Andrew Tellames earned All-American honors for their top 30 finish.Bouvatte finished in a time of 17:59 for sixth place and became CSUSM's 10th women's cross country runner to finish in the top 10 at the NAIA National Championships. Rodriguez was close behind at 18:19 to take 13th place in her first appearance at the national level.Ing finished 17th overall in a time of 25:24 and Tellames followed close behind at 25:29 for 21st place.
