Cross Country Competes at Roy Griak Invitational

Joe Linder led the way for the men's team with his time of 28:30

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Baker University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in one of the most competitive meets in the country over the weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course, hosted by the University of Minnesota.

The Wildcats competed against 37 teams on both the men’s and women’s side in a field full of NCAA Division II and NAIA programs.

There were 371 runners in the women’s race and 415 in the men’s. The Wildcat women’s squad finished 31st out of 37 teams, while the men’s team took 27th out of 37 teams.

Rosie Hollis again led the women’s team with her 78th place finish time of 25:03. This marked the first time this season the women’s squad ran a 6K race.

Jenna Black, Brenda McCollum and Madison Dispensa all finished in the Top 200 spots, as they finished 158th, 165th and 199th respectively.

On the men’s side, Joe Linder was the top finisher for BU with his 115th place finish time of 28:30. Gunnar Hays finished just behind him at 28:55 and took 143 and Andrew Dare ran the meet in 29:25 taking 170th place.

Both teams will be back in action at the Haskell Invite Saturday, Oct. 10th in Lawrence, Kansas.
