The UNLV track & field program got a second-place finish from Cortney Miller (Las Vegas/Calvary Chapel Christian HS) in the hammer throw Friday to open up the Spring Invitational and Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis at Myron Partridge Stadium. Miller registered a personal-best measurement of 195-5 (59.58m) on both her fifth and sixth attempts. The distance was one inch better (195-4/59.54m) than the toss she uncorked at the 2014 Mountain West Outdoor Championships, and it also improved her third-place standing in UNLV's all-time performance list.
