Aleona Reyes and Sam Goff went 1-2 in the 3,000 steeplechase in the outdoor opener for the Jimmies.

Typically, the Sioux City Relays would be the about the third meet for the Jimmies, but weather wiped out the first two. With temperatures near 80, it took a toll on their athletes.

"It was actually too hot for top performances on Saturday afternoon. … I think sitting around in the sun for two days took its toll on a lot of kids," UJ women's coach Jim Clark said. "It was great to get started, now it looks like we are back to watching the weather for a few days again."
