Maton, Armstrong invited to Kodiak for mile

There is a big race coming to an out-of-the-way place in the first week of June. 

Matthew Maton and Elijah Armstrong have been invited to participate in The Alaska Dream Mile on Alaska's Kodiak Island along with locals Trevor Dunbar and Levi Thomet. Parker Stinson is part of the lineup as well. 

The Brian Young Invitational is set for June 6. 

Maton, who has officially left his high school team at Summit OR, indicated that he is definitely in and planning to make the trip. 

Maton, Armstrong and Thomet have been Foot Locker West region teammates the past two years and have become friends. 

Dunbar helped make his home track in Kodiak famous when he was filmed running a 9:01 time trial in the 3,200 meters in falling snow back in 2008.
