Marcus Wheeler takes own life at school

The running community is in anguish once again after a young runner has taken his own life at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, Ariz. 

According to news reports in Arizona, Wheeler died of a self-inflicted gunshot. 

Wheeler had posted ominious tweets that he was contemplating the act. 

Wheeler won the Arizona Division I cross country title last fall and placed third in the race behind two teammates in 2013. He was intending to attend Central Arizona College in the fall. 

Just a week ago, ESPN produced a poignant account of Madison Holleran's tragic story. Holleran was a high school standout at Northern Highlands NJ and a University of Penn freshman who committed suicide in early 2014.
