Jenny Kimbro was the star of the 1A prelims Thursday afternoon qualifying for four finals putting Sidell Jamaica in good position to win their first team championship. Kimbro has the fastest times in the 100 and 300 Hurdles, the second fastest time in the 200, and is currently in fifth in the Long Jump. Her teammates Katie Wise and Abby Nicholson are currently second and sixth in the Discus. Those points could put them on top of the podium Saturday afternoon.

Sullivan still has a chance at a trophy behind the legs of Amanda McCLain. She currently leads the Long Jump as well as qualifying for the finals of the 200 and 400. She will also be a part of Sullivan’s 800 Meter Relay. Sullivan’s title hope took a hit when Emily Neuhauser failed to make the finals in the 100. She did qualify in the 200.

Carthage Illini West, led by three qualifying relays, will be in the hunt for a trophy Saturday. Defending team champion Aurora Christian, behind Natasha Brown, are also in position to defend their championship.

It could be a wild team final on Saturday.
