Athletes from our City Track at The Armory program are holding a photo from our archive room dated February 1954. The photo depicts Josef Barthel winning the Millrose Games Wanamaker Mile in 4:07.5. A native of Luxembourg, Barthel was a three time Olympian and won the 1,500m at the 1952 games with 3:42.2.
