I am sure most high jumpers would agree with me, that having an quote on quote "INCONSISTENT" season where you jump 225 one meet 228 the next meet and 230 or 233 the next meet isn't bad at all. Hell I pray to have an inconsistent meet like that this season as opposed to jumping 215 every single meet. WOW, 215 would be super consistent, but not exactly the kind of heights I want to be reaching this indoor season. My hats go off to all of the guys on the list Jesse made, well done Jesse. I plan on seeing y'all in New Mexico this indoor season, it should be fun. Hey, we can all stop at Rudy's BBQ off of I-40, its real good, especially the Peach Cobbler. Talk to y'all later. Oh, and the transition from being one of top dogs to the NCAA's isnt as easy as these top jumpers on the list have made it seem, a lot of people fall off by the way side. Tougher competition week in and week out, not to mention the increased academic responsibility. Peace and hair grease everyone!!

peastjumpersdad, no disrespect but I disagree with the statement made about Andra not being able to compete with the big boys and not winning meets. Personally, I think he held his own not to mention he won more meets this year than the two you stated(last meet overseas and the Texas Relays). Correct me If I`m wrong, but I do believe he beat Yaroslav Rybakov in Gateshead with a 2.33 jump. In case you “missed this” here`s the direct link. http://eng.rusathletics.com/nov/nov.php?ind=4927

He also won the Aviva International Match in Glasgow, Scotland with a of 7-7 jump and he beat Ivan Ukhov in Birmingham at the Aviva Grand Prix with another 7-7 jump.

Come on "gill". Caught up into myself and my son. Are you nuts or something? Jesse started a discussion about ranking the jumpers. My initial response had no comment in reference to my son. If you read it you would have seen that I said this

"that is really not bad when you are jumping that high, but his inconsistent heights are my issue"

My comment was in reference to an increase of 4cm on Andra's PB.

The only reason I made comments in reference to my son was because other's brought him into it.

You are the one that got on your soapbox and tried to tell me off instead of disagreeing and submitting your own personal feelings.

As for my son, you don't know him, you have not communicated or been around him, so how would you know anything about whether or not he was caught up with himself.

You are right. We will see when the season comes around.

You know what I look like from a picture on my profile with my son. Next time make yourself known when we are at a meet together. I am a man just like you and I would love to have this conversation face to face. This not a challenge to fight or anything like. I would just like to meet you and shake your hand and we can talk.

You may have been around but you still need to learn to spell and use correct grammar.

Basically, peastjumpersdad, you are just a bit to caught up into your self and your son. And from the looks of it, your son seems to be a little to caught up in himself also.. We will see what happens when the season comes around... And as for me, and my affiliation to high jump, lets just say ive been around the block a few to many times.

Whatever bitch said "they're known to get good athletes and turn them into nothing - ivan diggs being the most recent exception." You can eat a dick. I went from a high school basketball player that could high jump, into a college high jumper. Not only was I hurt my last two Outdoors seasons I managed to 2.23 on a damage nerve and turf toe (all on my left foot) at Texas Relays. So next time you pop shit about me get all my facts pussy. See me in person and say that shit not behind a computer screen faggot.

As for Toddrick trust me he will be a great jumper.

I agree with the list Jesse. You and Andra been holding it down since I first got interested in this sport (Scott too). I was honored to jump against all of yall wheather in high school or College.

@ "ashunk"

I agree. Head to head competition along with the fact that Andra did have the #1 height in the world this year gives Andra the edge.

This dialogue is great and this is something that’s been missing from our sport: we have so much talent in the US and I think it’s a shame that we only have 1 medal (since 2004) to show for it. This year, we had 2 of the top 5 world indoor/outdoor marks which shows we have the talent- we just need to perform and peak when it counts!
Altough Jesse had a more impressive season and i think a brighter future, I gotta go with Andra as 1 because he beat Jesse @ both indoor and outdoor USA's:

1 Andra
2 Jesse

3 Tora
4 Keith

5 Grant
