2012 NCAA Rankings

1. (4) Derek Drouin (Indiana, Jr.) Derek Drouin looks to be his old self again.  He jumped 2.31m (7-7) to win the Big 10 Champs a couple of weekends ago.  With his history of shining at the NCAA meet he will now be the favorite once again.  He has already won 3 NCAA titles can he make it #4???  Outdoor Meets (2.15m, 3rd, 2.20m, 2nd, 2.16m, 1st, 2.22m, 1st, Penn Relays, 2.31m, 1st, Big Ten Champs)

2. (1) Erik Kynard (Kansas State, Jr.)  Eric has a ton of potential but has not been quite getting over the bars he was in the indoor season.  He has yet to lose this year outdoors but needs to jump like he did indoors to have a chance at winning his 2nd straight NCAA outdoor title.  He has a season best outdoors of 2.21m (7-3).  Outdoor meets (2.21m, 1st, Texas Relays, 2.18m, 1st, 2.21m, 1st Big 12 Champs)  Indoor Meets (2.31m, 1st, 2.25m, 1st, 2.31m, 1st, 2.27m, 1st Big 12 Champs, 2.20m, 4th NCAA Champs)

3. (3) Nick Ross (Arizona, Jr.)  Nick jumped a PB last weekend of 2.26m (7-5).  He is quietly having a superb outdoor season.  He could defintely be a threat to win the title.  He recently won the PAC-12 Champs as well with a 2.20m (7-2.5) jump.  Outdoor meets (2.22m, 2nd, 2.22m, 1st, 2.25m, 5th, Mt. 4. (2) Ricky Robertson (Ole Miss, Jr.)  Ricky still has the highest jump this outdoor season of 2.32m (7-7.25) but was 13cm less than that to place 4th at the SEC champs.  The way he is jumping right now he could finished anywhere from 1st to 12th at the NCAA champs.  Outdoor Meets (2.25m, 1st, 2.26m, 1st, 2.32m, 1st, 2.07m, 1st, 2.24m, 2nd, 2.19m, 4th)  Indoor Meets (2.23m, 2nd, 2.24m, 1st, 2.16m, 5th, 2.25m, 1st SEC Champs, 2.15m, 9th NCAA Champs)

5. (6) Edgar Rivera Morales (Arizona, Jr.)  Edgar has been jumping well this outdoor season.  He should finished top 8 at the NCAA champs no problem but you never know.  Outdoor Meets (2.25m, 1st, 2.22m, 2nd, 2.25m, 2nd, Mt. 6. (7) Dwight Barbiasz (Florida, Sr.) Dwight always seems to preform well at the NCAA meet.  He was not having a good seaason outdoors until the SEC Champs whre he jumped a PB of 2.25m (7-4.5) and won!.  Outdoor Meets (2.10m, 8th, 2.10m, 7th, 2.05m, 10th, Drake Relays, 2.25m, 1st, SEC Champs)  Indoor Meets (2.16m, 2nd, 2.23m, 1st, 2.22m, 2nd, 2.19m, 3rd SEC Champs, 2.23m, 2nd NCAA Champs)

7. (5) Darius King (Indiana, So.) Darius placed 2nd to his teammate Drouin at the Big Ten Champs.  He looks like he is in a good spot heading into the NCAA regional meet this weekend.  Outdoor Meets (2.16m, 3rd, 2.18m, 2nd, 2.21m, 1st, 2.11m, 2nd, 2.17m, 2nd, Big Ten Champs) Indoor Meets (2.10m, 1st, 2.13m, 4th, 2.18m, 1st, 2.22m, 1st Big Tens, 2.23m, 2nd NCAA Champs)

8. (11) Maalik Reynolds (Penn, So.) Maalik jumped 2.24m (7-4.25) at the Heps a few weekends ago but no heighted at the IC4As last weekend.  He has big up side but is not consistent. 9. (8) Marcus Jackson (Mississippi, So.)  Marcus finished 2nd at the SEC Champs a few weekends ago.  He has a season best jump of 2.22m (7-3.25).  Outdoor Meets (2.20m, 1st, 2.16m, 2nd, 2.10m, 7th, 2.15m, 2nd, 2.19m, 4th, Penn Relays, 2.22m, 2nd, SEC Champs).  Indoor Meets (2.20m, 1st, 2.23m, 1st, 2.14m, 4th, 2.18m, 2nd, 2.13m, 7th USA Champs, 2.20m, 4th NCAA Champs)

10. (9) Bryan McBride (Arizona State, Jr.) Bryan has only jumped in 3 meets this outdoor season.  His last meet he jumped 2.17m (7-1.5) to finish 4th at the PAC 12 champs.  Outdoor Meets (2.20m, 1st, 2.20m, 2nd, 2.17m, 2nd, PAC 12 Champs) Indoor Meets (2.13m, 3rd, 2.16m, 1st, 2.21m, 1st, 2.26m, 1st, 2.17m, MPSF Champs, 2.23m, 1st, 2.20m, 6th NCAA Champs)

11. (NR) Montez Blaire (Cornell, So.) (10) Kris Kornegay Gober (NC State, Jr.) Kris has been consistent this year.  He has a season best jump of 2.21m (7-3).  Outdoor Meets (2.15m, 1st, 2.21m, 1st, 2.15m, 3rd, 2.10m, 2nd, 2.17m, 4th, ACC Champs, 2.12m, 9th, Penn Relays, 2.14m, 1st)  Indoor Meets (2.18m, 3rd, 2.19m, 2nd, 2.13m, 5th, 2.16m, 7th)

13. 14. (13) James Harris (Mississippi, So.) James jumped well at the SEC Champs but did not jump well until that.  He has a season best jump of 2.19m (7-2.25).  Outdoor Meets (2.12m, 5th, 2.15m, ?, NH, 2.19m, 3rd, SEC Champs)  Indoor Meets (2.20m, 2nd, 2.23m, 3rd, 2.27m, 1st, NH USA Champs, 2.15m, 9th NCAA Champs)

15. (14) Ronnie Black (Virginia Tech, Jr.) Ronnie jumped a season best of 2.21m (7-3) a few weeks ago. Outdoor meets (2.11m, 1st, 2.05m, 9th, ACC Champs, 2.12m, 10th, Penn Relays, 2.21m, 1st)  Indoor Meets (2.22m, 1st, 2.18m, 2nd, 2.15m, 13th NCAA Indoor Champs)
