2013 NCAA Rankings

Pre Seaon rankings 1/5/2013

1.  Erik Kynard (Kansas State, Sr.) - While Erik was a disappointing 4th place at the NCAA indoor champs he then caught fire.  He won every meet in the college ranks including the Big 12 and NCAA champs titles.  He jumped a personal best of 2.34m (7-8) to win the NCAA Champs in Des Moines, Iowa.  This was of course a big time preformance but Erik came through in the clutch when it mattered most.  He jumped a near PB of 2.33m (7-7.75) to get silver in the Olympic Games in London.  Erik will have some battle with Derek Drouin but looks to be the best in the college ranks hands down.

2.  Derek Drouin (Indiana, Sr.) - Derek Drouin looks to be the clear #2 jumper coming into the year.  He jumped a personal best of 2.31m (7-7) several times last year once coming at the NCAA champs where he finished 2nd.  He also came through in the clutch placing 3rd at the Olympic Games in London with a jump of 2.29m (7-6)!  He will be motivated to beat Erik and finish is career at Indiana with a bang.

3.  Nick Ross (Arizona, Sr.) - Nick was the 2012 NCAA indoor champ.  He also was the PAC 12 conference champ and finished 3rd at the Olympic trials with a PB jump of 2.28m (7-5.75).  He did not make the US Olympic team because he did not have the Olympic A standard of 2.31m (7-7).  He will look to upset the two big guns this year, Erik and Derek.

4.  Ricky Robertson (Mississippi, Sr.) Ricky set a personal best last year of 2.32m (7-7.25) but could not get it done when it done on the big stadge.  He finished 6th at the Outdoor NCAA Champs and 9th in the indoor NCAA champs.  Ricky has the potentail to jump high.  Can he finish up his senior year on a high note?

5.  Dwight Barbiasz (Florida, Sr.) Dwight had a great year last year finishing 2nd at the indoor NCAA Champs and 3rd at the outdoor NCAA champs.  He set a personal best of 2.28m (7-5.75) at the outdoor NCAA Champs.

6.  Maalick Reynolds (Penn, Jr.) Maalick jumped 2.24m (7-4.25) last year at the NCAA outdoor champs to finish 6th.

7.  Edgar Rivera Morales (Arizona, Sr.) Edgar has a personal best jump of 2.28m (7-5.75).  He finished 7th at the indoor NCAA Champs and 11th at the outdoor NCAA Champs.

8.  Marcus Jackson (Mississippi State, Jr.) Marcus finished 5th at the Outdoor NCAA Champs with a leap of 2.24m (7-4.25).

9.  Bryan McBride (Arizona State, Jr.) Bryan jumped 2.26m (7-5) indoors and 2.20m (7-2.5) to finish 12th at the NCAA outdoor champs.

10.  Harrison Steed (Cal, So.) Harrison jumped a PB 2.20m (7-2.5) to finish 8th at the Outdoor NCAA Champs.
