2009 Final USA Rankings 9/29/2009

#1. (2) Andra Manson -  Andra had a great year with a world leading 2.35m (7-8.5) jump outdoors.  He won USA indoors with a 2.32m (7-7.25) jump and was 2nd at the USA outdoor champs 2.28m (7-5.75).  He made his first World Championship team made the finals and  jumped 2.23m (7-3.75) to finish 9th place.  In addition he had some major wins including, 2.31m (7-7) in Glasgow (indoors), 2.31m (7-7) in Birmingham, 2.33m (7-7.75) in Gateshead and finished his season strong with a win in Shanghai 2.27m (7-5.25).   He also was 4th at the World Athletics Fainal 2.29m (7-6).  Because he was able to jump high when he need to he is this year #1 jumper on USAJumper.com.  Seasons best jump 2.35m Outdoors (7-8.5) and 2.32m (7-7.25) Indoors

#2. (1) Jesse Williams - Jesse had a great year in and out every compeition.  Head to head this year he was 8-3 vs Andra Manson US #1 but he had two huge defeats to him at USA indoors and outdoors.    Although he had the best year of his career it was tainted with a 4th place finish at the USA champs 2.28m (7-5.75).  His major wins this year include Malmo (indoors) 2.32m (7-7.25), Valencia (indoors) 2.30m (7-6.5), Stockholm (indoors) 2.30m (7-6.5), Belem 2.33m (7-7.75), Harry Jerome 2.31m (7-7), Stockholm 2.30m (7-6.5).  He also finished 3rd at the World Athletics Final 2.29m (7-6).  Seasons best jump Outdoors 2.34m (7-8) and 2.36m (7-8.75) Indoors.

#3. (4) Keith Moffat - Keith had the best year of his professional career jumping a season best of 2.28m when it counted at the USA championships to get 2nd place and a spot on the 2009 World Championship team in Berlin, Germany.  At the world champs he made the final where he eventually jumped 2.23m to get 11th place.   He also had major wins at Baie Mahault 2.28m (7-5.75) and Uberlandia 2.28m (7-5.75).  Season best jump 2.28m (7-5.75) Outdoors and 2.23m (7-3.75) Indoors.

#4. (3) Tora Harris - Tora had the best competition of the year when it counted at USA outdoors jumping 2.31m (7-7) for the win.  He jumped a Personal Best indoors 2.32m at the Pedros Cup indoors.  He did fail to make the finals at the World Championships.  Season best 2.31m (7-7) Outdoors and 2.32m (7-7.25) Indoors. 

#5. (5) Grant Lindsey - Grant was undefeated most of the year winning 6 of his 10 competitions of the year.  He jumped a new Personal Best at the Harry Jerome Classic 2.28m (7-5.75).  He finished 6th at the USA outdoor champs 2.25m (7-4.5).  He also finished 2nd at the Texas Relays with a 2.27m (7-5.25) jump.  Watch out next year for higher jumping out of this young jumper.  Season best 2.28m (7-5.75) Outdoors and 2.25m (7-4.5) Indoors.

#6. (6) Jamie Nieto - Jamie had another solid year.  He jumped at season best 2.28m (7-5.75) at the Harry Jerome Classic to finish 3rd place.  He also finished 5th at the USA Outdoor Champs with a jump of 2.25m (7-4.5).  Season best 2.28m (7-5.75) Outdoors and 2.25m (7-4.5) Indoors.

#7. (7) Scott Sellers - Scott jumped high when he needed to at the NCAA level.  He won both the indoors and outdoors NCAA crowns last year.   He jumped season bests at both NCAA meets 2.25m (7-4.5) indoors and 2.26m (7-5) outdoors.   He is now finished with his college career at Kansas State.  Season best 2.26m (7-5) Outdoors and 2.25m (7-4.5) Indoors

#8. (8) Dusty Jonas -  Dusty Jonas was injured most of last year but was still able to finish 3rd at the USA champs indoors with a 2.26m (7-5) jump and had a season best of 2.24m (7-4.25) outdoors.  He also finished 7th at the USA outdoor champs with a 2.20m (7-2.5) jump.  Season best 2.24m (7-4.25) Outdoors and 2.26m (7-5) Indoors

#9. (NR) Joe Kindred - Joe Kindred was the man of the Division II level last year. winning both titles indoors and out.  He had a season best 2.26m (7-5) to win the prestigous Penn Relays.  He also finished 9th at the USA outdoor champs 2.20m (7-2.5).  Season best 2.26m (7-5) Outdoors and 2.21m (7-3) Indoors

#10. (9) Jerome Miller - Jerome Miller had a breakout season jumping 2.26m (7-5) indoors and 2.22m (7-3.25) outdoors.  He won the ACC outdoor title and also finished 4th at the DI NCAA meet.  Season best 2.22m (7-3.25) Outdoors and 2.26m (7-5) Indoors
