Playoffs this weekend

Anyone who has Direct TV can get Setanta Sports and watch AFL playoffs starting this weekend.  If you haven't seen this sport this is a good time to start.  There are some great athletes and passionate players.

Geelong is the overwhelming favorite right now.  They have an unprecedented run of success and sport some exceptional players.  Gary Ablett Jr was my first favorite player in the sport.  His intensity and tenacity made me a fan of him and the sport.  Matthew Scarlett plays an exceptional defensive style that shows that passion and skill can overcome size and talent.  Every player on Geelong's team knows their duty extremely well.  They are the best coached side the last two years.

Western is the team that most runners would understand.  Their players run the opponents ragged.  Because of their conditioning they don't wear out and are able to perform skills at a high level. Murphy consistently scores a high percentage of goals rather than behinds.  Other players also score at a high percentage.  That is due to conditioning.

Hawthorne has an exceptional amount of young talent.  They have exceptional players with great skill.  They are not a great team but a very good team.  When they become a team they will threaten Geelong for supremacy of the league.

Geelong should win this but North Melborne showed everyone how to beat them.  Players have to put their opponents in difficult conditions that they are not used to.  By changing positions on the field Geelong players are put out of their element and unable to respond successfully.  If the coaches do not make this strategical change or do not have players capable of disturbing the Geelong players then they will not lose.
