Highlands hurdler earns personal-best time in 100Published by
AUSTIN — Highlands senior Jourdan Doffeny had a light schedule at the Texas Relays, competing in one event instead of her usual five. Doffeny ran a personal record 14.03 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing third in the event Saturday at Myers Stadium. “I've only run the 100 hurdles for a year, and this was the first time I really focused in on it,” said Doffeny, who finished seventh in the event at last year's Class 5A state meet. Mansfield Legacy's Shelbi Vaughan won the shot put with a throw of 48 feet, 11 inches a day after she set a national record in the discus.
