Inside the publication you will find stories about the race, complete final results for both the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and the 5K Run-Walk, the names of all of our volunteers, photos and statistics. If you find any errors in your listings, you can email us at [email protected] with the change that you think needs to be made. Please put “Searchable Database” in the header of your message. We update the All-Time Searchable database once a year, so if you have a correction that needs to be made, it will be made in June 2013.
Our 41st running will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2013. We will be using a lottery system to select entrants. The lottery period will extend from Monday, December 3 through Friday, December 14, 2012. Complete lottery results will be posted on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. A few days before the lottery opens we will send out reminder emails to everyone who entered the lottery for the 2012 race – even those who were not selected. If your email changes during the year, be sure to send your new email address to [email protected]. All of the latest lottery information will be posted on the event website, www.cherryblossom.org, as well.
Everyone should put [email protected] on your preferred email list so our messages will not be rejected as spam. We cannot take responsibility for individuals missing the lottery because our reminder message was trapped in their spam folder. If you know individuals who did not enter in 2012 but would like to receive the reminder email about the 2013 entry process, you can tell them to register to receive the reminder email on the website athttp://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001AxuaknMPJZ6npA_aMHVaj85zKcO6Ehxx6kf4cypKlqg6_nNKmRNKU70VOiG__2oO_YyJ5BTD6EPrVMfL4RT3PbxOKjgCok69VDQZEXDld_wWmkD5PJBYhIs4snRXxS9AJXGkWR00cLsVDSIBrpiz93JDPYI-mm3b. Once again, we will be offering a guaranteed entry code to anyone who was rejected in the race entry lottery for the last two years (2011 and 2012). This code, which will be emailed to you in mid-to-late November, will allow you to bypass the lottery and gain entry directly into the event. Unless you have changed your last name or your email address, we know who you are so you do not need to take any action, other than being on the lookout for an email containing your entry code in late November, 2012. If you have changed names or emails, please contact us at[email protected] with the new information and place in the header “Two-Year Lottery Exemption Update.”
Guaranteed entries are also available through our partnership with Teens Run DC. TRDC is recruiting mentors now for the 2012–13 season! TRDC partners with DC public schools to empower at-risk youth ages 12-18 through a youth mentoring and distance running program. Run or walk with a student and you will together set and achieve goals for training, racing, and life. Mentors commit to Saturday morning group runs with their students on the National Mall, lasting 60-90 minutes, and contact with their students during the week.

All of our 2012 volunteers will automatically receive a guaranteed entry code in late November that will enable them to bypass the lottery. No further action is needed on your part to receive this code.
