Who I Am...

My name's Kate. My dad is the men's Arkansas Track and XC coach. God has given me the ability to run so I do it for Him and His glory only. I run 400s, 300/400 hurdles, 800s, 1600 and 5k for xc. Hoping to run a 2k steeple sometime next spring.

Just recently got back from Blue Ridge Running Camp in VA where I got to meet THE Jack Daniels. I learned there that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it.

My goals for this xc season is to break 19min and consistently run in the 19s.

Quotes

I got these quotes from my man Tribble who's the new assitant Oregan State coach- These are what get me through that bad race or practice when I don't think I can get better than I already am..

"The body does not want you to do this. As you run, it tells you to stop but the mind must be strong. You always go too far for your body. You must handle the pain with strategy... It is not age; it is not diet. It is the will to succeed." Jacqueline Gareau

"Champions are champions not because they do something extraordinary but because they do the ordinary things better than anyone else." Chuck Noll

"The desire to win is born in most of us; the desire to prepare is chosen by a few of us."

"It's the journey that matters. Learning is more important than the test. Practice well and the games will take care of themselves." Tony Dungy

"I've always taken the philosophy that you have to dream a little in this sport; if you stay in your comfort zone, you're not going to do anything special." Deena Kastor

" I had as many doubts as anyone else. Standing on the starting line, we're all cowards." Alberto Salazar

As with other RS'ers who do both sprints and XC, I am going to ask you the following question: HOW THE F*DGE DO YOU KEEP YOUR SPEED UP FOR SPRINTS WHILE DOING XC?
