| Who I Am...Greetings. My name is Cullen Cantwell and I go to the University of Great Falls. I am 22 years old (thank God for the NAIA). I am a young spry lad that enjoys running just as much as the next guy. I love video games, music and reading. Majoring in Secondary Education and History to become a high school teacher and a coach. I love learning and I want to do my part to give back what I know. Growing up a played a LOT of baseball, and sometimes I wonder if that is what I should still be doing, but then I look in the mirror before I shower and realize that it's not. I have played a lot of other sports before I got into running back during my junior year of high school. During high school I helped lead our baseball team to a second place trophy at the Washington State Tournament, but I digress. My senior year I then helped lead our cross country team to the most disappointing second place finish you have ever seen. Thoroughbreds don't appreciate anything but a win. But during the year, a friendship was born of epic magnitude as 7 boys would enter into the season as friends, and leave as "Bandits". This friendship could not have possibly been formed without the ultimate leadership of our fearless coaches, friends and mentors, Jon Murray and Jeff Sowards. Two years after high school I helped create the Everett Community College Cross Country program with my bandit Nathan Zahn and Head Coach Matt Koenigs. That year, with 5 runners, we managed to steal 5th place at the NWAACC meet. The next year was bitter sweet for me, as I didn't have the greatest season and managed to slide out of the top 7, but with a much better team, we took 2nd at the NWAACC meet. By the grace of God, I was able to get into a four year university, University of Great Falls, with a 2.2 GPA out of junior college. Yet, now I am going strong and working super hard, and I will never get terrible grades like that again. I put on the red shirt this year at UGF, but I still work hard and PR'ed in the 8k with a 26:04. I still have the red shirt on for track, but that is not going to deter me whatsoever. Currently, I hold the privilege and honor of being one of the captains on the team. Inspiring is something that I thrive off of, so I like to attempt to inspire as much as possible.
