Symmonds, Wheating reach 800 final

Two crowd favorites - Nick Symmonds of Oregon Track Club Elite and UO sophomore Andrew Wheating - both advanced to the final of the men’s 800 on Saturday. Symmonds used a late surge on the inside rail to win his heat with the fastest qualifying time of 1:45.61, while Wheating finished behind reigning U.S. champion Khadevis Robinson in his heat with a time of 1:46.23.
