Dear Friends,
I am writing to ask for your assistance once again. This
time in helping me support competitive racing opportunities for Oregon’s open and
masters men and women. If you have not already, please visit the USATF-OREGON ROAD RACE GRAND PRIX website at http://www.runnerspace.com/ORRGP for all information pertaining to this year's Grand Prix.
USATF-Oregon has partnered with Road Runner Sports to launch
a dramatically new and improved Grand Prix Road Race series. Road Runner Sports has stepped up to offer
prize money for each series race. However, the contract with Road Runner Sports is for
one year. In order to sustain this relationship beyond 2010 we, the Oregon running
community, need to support this series as best we can. From USATF-Oregon’s
point of view this means becoming a USATF member. For the race directors of the
series races this means participating in those races. And finally, from Road
Runner Sports’ perspective this means attending in-store registration events.
One such event will be happening this Saturday, January 30th 2010 at Road Runner Sports in Tualatin from 11:00am to 3:00pm. There is
an
in-store registration opportunity for the kick-off race of the series,
the RED
LIZARD 5 MILER. Red Lizard and Road Runner Sports would like to meet a
goal of 40 sign
ups in that 4 hour window. Registration fee is $20. Proceeds for this
race will be donated by TRL to in-need high school track and
field teams and athletes. Also, you will receive a race tech t-shirt.
Plus you
will receive either free goodies from RRS and/or discounts on
merchandise. Here is link to facebook event page http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=285793945954&ref=nf
I hope you can find the time on your busy Saturday
to come
to Road Runner Sports in Tualatin to support competitive running
opportunities for Oregon distance runners. I will register on that day,
so we now need only 39 more registrants!
Please share this information with any party you think would be
interested.
Thank you! If you have any questions please call or email
me.
