LetsRun.com has learned from a source close to the program that the collegiate running career at the University of Virginia of two-time NCAA 800 meter champion Robby Andrews has come to an end. Andrews, a UVA junior, has decided to no longer compete for the Cavaliers. The next step for Andrews is likely a professional running career, although he could transfer to another school.

Andrews went to UVA with a lot of hype as in high school he set the US high school indoor records for both the 800 (1:49.21) and the 1000 (2:22.28). The former NJ prep star more than lived up to the hype right from the get go in college. As a freshman, Andrews went undefeated indoors, capping off the season with a stunning victory by .01 over US Olympian Andrew Wheating at the NCAA indoor meet in an absolutely thrilling race.
