Lo-Ellen's legacy in good hands

At any any given track meet, there's a good chance Lo-Ellen Park coach Colin Ward logs as many miles as his athletes.
If he's not with his Knights in the bleachers, he's giving his relay team some last-minute advice in the starting area. Or maybe he's chatting with one of his champion pole vaulters. Or grabbing an ice pack for a hurting hurdler.
Perhaps Ward stays so busy because he has so much to live up to. Lo-Ellen has been a local power in track and field since the early 1970s, when former coach Doug Gingrich moved to Northern Ontario from Saginaw, Mich., and took over the program at the south-end school.
