St. Xavier High School graduate Bobby Curtis of Villanova won the 5,000-meter national title last night with a personal best at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

The senior crossed the finish line in 13 minutes, 33.93 seconds, giving Villanova its first men's track title since 1981 and the first in the 5,000 meters since 1979.
