I am the very proud mom of four very talented past and present runners. I married a very competitive runner, whose successes in high school was shared by his siblings. (Here are the running genes) Since 1991, I have attended hundreds of track meets and stood and sat for thousands of hours to watch my children and other track and field athletes compete in all kinds of weather. This is something that I have loved doing and always looked forward to, but my "children" track watching days are numbered-- our youngest will graduate college this year.

I started running in 1989 when in my 30s and competed in local road races and masters track meets. I have run the Philadelphia Distance Run about 5 times. Now I have given to a slower jog, but still love to go out on the road for solitude and just to enjoy the run. I am hoping that some day my children's running genes will carry to the next generation, and I will be able to continue my track and field addiction of cheering and watching them win.
