Title:2012 Reed Rotary Track and Field / Girls 3200m
Description:

2012 Reed Rotary Track & Field / Girls 3200m

As late as Thursday night, the weatherman predicted a 80% chance of rain for Saturday..

The rain held off until the start of the girls 3200m. (around 1:30 PST). but the wind was gusting upwards of 30 mph for most of the day. ( I forgot to change the time on my camera)

Here 2A State XC champion Becky Graybow is being dogged by 2011 3A and Nevada Gatorade XC POY, Mary Jo Wright (Elk0). Also pictured is Truckee's Skyler Flora, Freshman and a top 7 finisher in the State 2011 3A XC Championships.

Wright went on to win both the 3200m to add to the 1600m win earlier in the day.

The temperature at the start of this race was 41 degrees and rain. -- enough to wet the tracks and made me put away my DSLR in favor of a Canon point and shoot Powershot A530.

During this race, the girls pole vault was still being contested with 4 girls still in contention. at 10'. but due to the conditions, further pole vault competition was called off.

Two of the students setting the bar for the pole vaulter was slightly injured.. one with a visible cut under his right eye due to an falling bar.
