Couple more days to add.

Ran a couple more days since my last post.  Trying to stay within the 4-5 mile range for the first week back.  Also doing a routine of 2 days on, 1 day off..nice n' easy.  Anyway, I'll just be postin my mileage on my profile since I don't think people need to be bombarded on the  blog page with my measly training updates.....  but yet having somewhere to post it not only records it for me, but also is a bit motivating to put it out there somewhere.  Ive never been good at keeping a log, or even knowing how many miles I ran week-to-week during college (coaches were a little frustrated I think)..but now that I dont have someone making my schedule for me..I think this might be a good time to start.  Its -4 degrees right now and the high for Chicago is 2 degrees today, so the run to the gym will be a little chilly today..but, not excuses.

Crazy Chicago Weather

Even with the incredible amounts of snow/sleet/rain that has fallen in Chicago the past 24 hours, i forced myself out the door to run to the gym and get a workout in--so good sign of actually committing to the running thing again.  Total today of a good 5 miles--felt pretty good and threw in a faster, up-tempo mile in the middle to mix it up a bit.  Hope everyone else's weather is better and no one was effected by the storms/tornado in the southeastern part of our nation.

Slow n' Steady.

Another 4 miles to add... Hard to start out at such little mileage, but I know the importance of building up slow.  Frustration now=no injuries later.  Thought about maybe signing up for a road race in a few months as a form of motivation;  However, it might be more discouraging when my time doesn't even come close to what I used to be able to run...i'll have to wait on that decision I think.

Startin' back up.

after a bout a year of on again-off again running, I am finally feeling like this will be my true start to getting back into the routine of it....yesterday 4 miles, today 4.5, little by little.
