WALLA WALLA, WA – September 6, 2008 – The University of Great Falls men’s and women's cross country teams headed west to Walla Walla, Washington for their first meet of the season hosted by Whitman College on Saturday.
The Argo runners competed against eight other schools including fellow Frontier Conference foe Lewis-Clark State College and host Whitman College.
On the men’s side, the Argos placed fifth as a team in the 6K as Pacific Lutheran University, Whitman College, Lewis-Clark State and Whitworth College all finished in the top four. Shane Donaldsen (FR, Thompson Falls, MT) was the top male finisher for the Argos as he finished the 6K in a time of 20:23.35 and finished 12th overall. Moses Leavens (SR, Great Falls, MT) and Jared Reyes (FR, Quincy, WA) finished in 26th and 27th place respectively with a time of 20:56. Ben Jessop also competed for the Argos and finished with a time of 21:02.94.
On the women’s side, Melissa Barcroft (SO, Burbank, WA) finished the 4K with a 33rd overall finish in a time of 16:17.55. Other Argo finishers include Shantell McLinden (FR, Libby, MT) with a time of 17:23.78, Jessica Barber (JR, Lakeside, AZ) finished in 18:30.62 followed by Alisha White (FR, Great Falls, MT) and Danielle Keating (FR, Twin Falls, ID).
