Who I Am...

Howdy.

So here it goes.  Although I was born in West Covina, CA I grew up mostly in Saudi Arabia. I played a bunch of sports growing up and had many incredible coaches.  In 9th grade I was blessed to begin running with SAAD track club with a phenomenal coach (Ian Wilson) and great group of athletes the sparked my passion for running.  My family moved to beautiful Colorado the following year where I began running with my soon to be great friend, runner, and coach, Kirk Pfeffer.  Coach Pfeffer had the best running stories you've ever heard, and my teammates and I never passed up an opportunity to run with him.  Most people don't think running 80 miles a week in High School is the best thing for a runner that age, and generally I agree with that, but because I had a coach who helped me to control my pace, I feel that it was the best for me.  I went on to college at Colorado State Universtiy.  Walking on to the CSU team was one of the best decisions I've ever made.  I couldn't have had a better team or coaches.  I still miss spending every day at practice with those guys.  While in College I ran my PR's of 8:11 (3000m) 14:02 (5000m indoor), and 29:11 (10k).  Today I live in Boulder, and I teach and coach cross country at Fairview High School.  Presently I'm running with a number of guys.  Most of whom run for the Boulder Distance Project and are coached by Steve Jones.
