The PDXC Youth Running Series continues to grow and support meets outside the Portland area with middle school races in Eugene, Albany, Champoeg Park and the next few weekends we will be preparing for the Oregon Middle School State XC Championships that saw record numbers last year and we anticipate a bigger turnout this year.

Be sure to sign your teams up on Athletic.net.

The highlights of the season have been the increased number of participants in the Nike Pre Nationals (nearly 300 runners) and a few events out of Portland that has given the opportunity for individuals and teams to mix up the competition. PDXC and the City of Eugene along with the University of Oregon hosted a Middle School race at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. The OTC Elite athletes, Bill Dellinger and Vin Lananna all posed with the athletes before the race.

The West Coast Conference will be holding their Championships at Fernhill Park on Saturday 10/27 and have invited up to 100 middle school athletes to come meet the coaches, athletes and do a course run through on Saturday as a part of their youth program. If you or your team are interested in participating let me know by sending an email to [email protected] referring to the WCC Youth Day on 10/27.

The PDXC Oregon State Middle School Championships will follow the same format as last year. The Superchamps races will begin at 12:00 noon to be followed by the Champs races. Awards will be distributed following all the races.

Top 25 individuals will receive medals.

Top 3 Boys and Girls teams in the Superchamps will receive  a team plaque.

Top team (Boys and Girls) will receive a team plaque in the Champs race.

We are looking forward to another fantastic event and remember to have your waivers signed. There is no fee to participate thanks to a generous grant from Willamette Valley Track and Field Foundation and our supporting high school teams.
