Congrats U of O, National Champs!
Published by
Hello again, So I am finally back to running again after taking about three days off. Its amazing how long it takes your system to recover from everything. Either way it is great to be back training with everyone and I am looking forward to the next month of training before I head back home in mid December. I was very pleased to hear today that the Oregon Men and Women did a phenomenal job at the NCAA Championships which were held at Indiana State. The men ended up finishing first overall highlighted by a second place finish by Galen Rupp and a ninth place finish by Shadrack Kiptoo-Biwott. The women finished second overall with highlighted finishes from Nicole Blood and Alex Kosinski who finished in eighth and eleventh respectively. The great part about being here is having the ability to not only work with my teammates from Team XO and Oregon Track Club Elite but we also run closely with Lane Community College which has some very good runners and also the fact that we see the Oregon Team a good deal with our training sessions at Hayward Field and many of our jobs tutoring student athletes at the U of O. I'm starting to develop some great relationships with guys on all of the teams and it really gives a great sense of running community here. Eugene definitely earns its name as "Track Town USA". If seeing those guys on a daily basis isn't enough, Gabe Jennings and Dathan Ritzehein can be seen either at South Eugene High School, Amazon Trail, Pre's Trail or Hendricks Park. Well I'm gonna call it an etry now. Many of the guys are heading home either tomorrow or Wednesday for thanksgiving and not coming back until Sunday so this week should be pretty boring. We are; however, planning a big feast with all of the guys who end up staying for Thanksgiving! Even though I will be away from my family this first time for Thanksgiving I really do have a great set of people to share it with out here. Be well everyone!
