Change of scenery...

Published by
Colleen W   on Jul 9 2008, 10:32 PM

Well, I am in Portland for 3 days and now that I am running "full speed ahead" (I had a little lay-off with an IT band thingy that I won't bore you with) I get a little change of scenery - Portland's waterfront as opposed to Eugene's ripplin' river.

I have to admit it has been taking all day to get the bark dust out of my sinuses from running Pre's trail in the dusty, windy, heat so a change might be good.

I am not really fond of running near Burnside Bridge - it really does smell like, well, the world is their urinal under that bridge.

I am right downtown, but I can run all the way down to Sellwood bridge, cross over and run past Oaks Park and that area where it is restored wetlands & bird habitat. When I was a kid, we came to "the city" and my Mom took us to Oaks Park - I thought it was Disneyland (yes, i was from hickville nowhere!). I was pissed because I was too short for the bumper cars... heyyyy, that gives me an idea.... bumper cars anyone??? I will have to see if it is open! Cool

Portland is a great city to visit, and it reminded me today that Hood to Coast is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
