I ran for the cross country only team throughout my college career and remained aboard as an assistant men's and womens coach for the 2005, 2006 and 2007 cross country and track seasons. It was an experience I'll never forget and made me who I am today. I'll always miss that program and the people involved. I recently moved to Corvallis, Oregon last August to become an assistant women's cross country and track coach under Kelly Sullivan at Oregon State University. It's been a fantastic experience so far working with a very knowledgeable, experienced, caring and compassionate coaching staff as well as an amazing group of talented, dedicated focused young women. As a recent outsider, it's been almost shocking to witness the healthy atmosphere that has been cultivated here, completely exploding the myth of how high caliber female distance running is "supposed" to work. The ladies of Oregon State have something special going on here as they climb into the national polls and up the ranks of a very competitive Pac-10 conference and West Region. Coach Sullivan, Assistant Coach Cynthia Castro and Assistant Coach Elizabeth Carey have been a pleasure to work with and I can see the passion and positivity they exude reflected by the women on the team. It's good to be a Beaver. Latest BlogsNo articles found
