State?€™s track team had a solid showing at the Oregon Preview Saturday
as the Vikings recorded eleven new Big Sky Conference Outdoor
Championship qualifying marks. Among the group were event winners senior Judith Burnett and
junior Trevor Rollinger. Rollinger topped the 400-meter hurdles with a
time of 53.77-seconds. Burnett took first in the shot put with a throw
of 44 feet, 5.25-inches. The Drain, Ore., product also qualified with a
second-place mark of 144-1 in the discus, and took fifth in the hammer
with a throw of 143-10. ?€œBurnett opened the outdoor season near her personal bests in
both the shot and discus,?€ť Head Coach Kebba Tolbert said. ?€œIf she
can continue to work on some technical issues, she will have a chance
to compete for a conference title.?€ť Junior Caressa Sims joined Burnett in qualifying for the shot
put with a third-place finish of 42-4.25. In addition, Sims, Burnett
and freshman Thanhtam Lai took fourth through sixth in the hammer with
