(Indianapolis, IN) The Indiana Invaders, annual hosts of the American Milers Club High Performance Series, have partnered with Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Track & Field to offer a Special Men's 800 meter race on Saturday afternoon, February 11th, as a part of GVSU's Big Meet.

The GVSU Big Meet features Invitational 800 meter, Mile and 3000 meter races Friday evening February 10th with the Indiana Invaders providing featured competitors and pace setting services for selected Invitational race sections.  For athletes seeking an entry into the Saturday Special Men's 800, athletes should contact Coach Harger directly with their interest.  The Saturday Special 800 race will feature Indiana Invaders athletes setting a pace conducive to those seeking to post a USA Indoor National Championship Qualification mark.  Heading the field of early entries is James "Jimmy" O'Brien who finished 4th at the 2011 USA Indoor National Championships.

Indiana Invaders Head Coach, Greg Harger said, "The Grand Valley State program and facility are national class and we have enjoyed supporting this meet since its inception".  Harger added, "This meet has annually produced numerous USA Indoor National Qualification marks and quite frankly we enjoy not chasing all over the country looking for ideal opportunities to run fast when everything we need is right here in our region of the country and on this weekend the place to be is GVSU's Big Meet".

The American Milers Club High Performance Series focuses on middle distance events, 800 and 1500 meters, with the inclusion of 400 meter, 3000 meter steeplechase and 10,000 meter races on selected dates.
