The Armory Foundation is seeking a creative technologist with knowledge and passion for the sport of track and field. You will be responsible for the execution of large digital, event, and physical tech projects within the Foundation.
We are in search of a track aficionado who knows their way around a terminal window. In this job you will oversee all technology in the building, including the New Balance Track & Field Center, supporting the various event team's specific needs. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with our partners and sponsors (New York Road Runners, New Balance, USA Track & Field). You will have the freedom to create and develop in the languages and platforms you choose.
The ideal candidate enjoys innovative and creative projects, both big and small, is intrigued by new technology and interested in how to integrate it. You make connections between disparate subjects to build new and unique ideas. You can visualize the big picture and see the necessary steps to get there.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and hardware.
- Proven ability to create quick software applications to serve the needs of the greater operation.
- Experience building responsive front-end and scalable back-end solutions.
- Eagerness to learn new tools and languages quickly and do self-directed work
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bonus = experience with: FinishLynx, RFID, Facebook APIs, Tumblr, Mobile dev, Processing, Node.js.

It is committed to serving youth by promoting fitness, a love of sport and the pursuit of individual excellence by hosting over 100 track and field meets each year. The Armory Foundation maintains the National Track and Field Hall of Fame, operates the largest after-school activities center in New York, and provides college prep and academic counseling services to hundreds of under-served New York City public high school students.
