The Hendricken Invitational is always one of the top meets on the calendar in Rhode Island, and this year's competition once again had some great competition and great results. Senior Joe Velez (Classical, Providence, RI) threw a new personal best to win on Saturday. Velez was one of four boys to break 200-feet in the competition and his final mark of 224'01" was more than a foot ahead of his old best set in early April. Catherine Maloney (LaSalle Academy, Providence, RI) won the girl's competition and was just short of her best. Runner-up Maggie Dufault (Pilgrim, Warwick, RI) also came within inches of the win and was just one inch under her personal best.
