WOMEN'S RACE RECAP of the 2015 Collegiate Running Association 10K Road Race National Championship held, for the 2nd consecutive year, within the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K presented by Martin's in Richmond, VA on Saturday March 28. Over 2,000 college students representing over 100 colleges and universities traveled to Richmond, VA to join nearly 30,000 runners from across the U.S. for this destination event.

Kellyn Johnson (Hoka One One Northern AZ Elite/ Coconino College) defended her #CRA10K title running 33:20. Kellyn recently ran a 2:28 marathon, one of the fastest debut's in U.S. history.  She was followed in 2nd by Susanna Sullivan (Capital Area Runners/ Marymount University) in 33:56 on the cold and windy morning.  Sullivan has also qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the marathon and won the Shamrock 8K in VA Beach, VA a week earlier.

Men's Champion Tyler McCandless (Newton Elite/Penn State University) ran 29:38 to win. He is the 2014 Collegiate Running Association Athlete of the Year and has qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon. He was chased by Joe Grey (Scott Sports, Mio Global/ Calvery Chapel Bible College) an 18 time U.S. Team qualifier and 9 time U.S. Champion who finished 2nd (30:08).

Both college athletes collected $2,000 for their individual wins as the top collegians! The #Ukrops10K provided $10,000 in prize money specifically reserved for the top 10 college students.

On behalf of all college students want to thank Sports Backers Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k presented by MARTIN'S, the city of Richmond, Virginia, the countless amazing people who welcomed thousands of college runners to the streets of #‎RVA! What an amazing event!!!
