This weekend was my first non-school related meet that i have ever watched live. Kind of weird, and unfortunately I only got to 'watch' half of it. The other half I was videotapeing, you dont get the same experience through a lens. Either way it was definintely enjoyable.

The only problem we ran into was mother nature, big storms rolled through at about 9 o'clock a half an hour before things were about to start. After a long delay it started storming for real and everyone was forced to shelter. I was forced into the 'tech room' with a few other people to wait it out, unfortunately the room was situated at the bottom of the hill with a blocked drain at the bottom of it. The room started to flood slightly until we shut the doors and threw up some sandbags. Fortunately once that was over we were able to get the meet under way.

The 5k was fun to watch mostly because watching I was wondering how long I could have held on, they came through the 3k in 8:30 (which is my PR) and then just kept going, it looked pretty dang fun. The womens 5k was impressive as one runner led start to finish and another had an amazing finish they all ran pretty quick too one hitting the A standard and two others hitting the B. After that the 800 was awesome watching the invaders do pretty well Juan breaking 1:50 and Adrian hitting a new PR just missing the same barrier. I then witnessed my first sub 4 mile (equivilent at least) and that was pretty cool. Lastly came the Mens and Womens steeple which both were very interesting, the mens winner ran 8:43 which is one of the standards, not sure which. After that came the womens race which also saw a standard, an A standard run by Mason which also happened to be a new PR. That race definitely was interesting as there were only two people in the race and it seperated rather quickly. Overall it was a pretty good weekend for the Invaders and I definitely learned a lot.

Last night I moved into my home for the rest of the summer. Im not going to lie at first I was slightly scared. First of all the neiborhood is slightly confusing, second my Mother was driving and that is scary no matter the situation. Walking up to the house I met one of my roomates Kyle. Coach Harger gave me his number and I thought I recognized the area code, turns out hes from Green Bay and is the older brother of a guy on my Track team... small small world.

My other roomate is a very nice guy from Kuwait and I am not even going to try and spell his name, Ill ask him later and update the blog. Overall the place isnt horrible especially after the work me and kyle did this morning. Now I just need a bed and Ill be set...

Physical activity wise I did my strength training circuit this morning with all pushups seeing as I dont have a pull-up bar yet. Adding that to the list of things I need relatively soon.

3x(1x10 Pushups, 30sec Front Plank, 30sec Side Plank, 30sec Side Plank, 30sec Front Plank)
