News - Boston Holiday Invite

http://www.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=104&do=news&news_id=4655

So I have been sucking with updating the group but I am back and ready to go with the winter season. Now as we all know the Reggie in Boston will be holding Nike Indoor Nationals (therefore, I get to watch), and so the Boston Holiday Invite is was supposed to be a pre-nationals event. Unfortumately, the turnout was dreadful disappointing, but some great performances were still turned in and there were a few out of state schools there. Anyway, we were there and so here are our results.

5K (first Indoor 5K in Prep History)

2. Brian Keiran- 16:39 (SCHOOL RECORD- duh)

3. Ben Halpin- 16:59

Open 1 Mile Run (NOT Millrose Qualifier)

6. Tim Murtagh- 4:49

10. Dan Mogielnicki- 4:57

55 M Hurdles

Prelims

7. Pat Driscoll- 8.49

Finals

7. Pat Driscoll- 8.51

4 X 200 Meter Relay

1. St. Johns Prep (Crosby, Kadich, Mostone, Pesatauro)- 1:35

Frosh/Soph DMR

2. St Johns Prep (Murphy, O'Connor, Touchette, Harrigan)- 11:35

High Jump

-- Alex Mostone- NH

Shot Put

6. Sean Enos- 42' 00.25"

7. Andrew Valeri- 41' 00.25"

4 X 800 Meter Relay

3. St Johns Prep (Hanlon, Gallo, Slattery, Masse)- 8:33

4 X 400 Meter Relay

2. St Johns Prep (Crosby, Touchette, Mostone, Kadich)- 3:32

1 Mile Run (Millrose Games Qualifying Race)

3. Mike Masse- 4:24

AND FOR ALL YOU FOLKS OUT IN OREGON...

8. Eamonn Kerr Daly- South Eugene HS- 4:40

So there you go, all our results, plus the kid from Oregon who made one hell of a trip for this meet (which we appreciate of course). When I heard that I was like "Whoa". But hey hopefully that means the word got out there and next year coaches will plan around the meet rather than plan around another meet they go to that weekend. For full results, go here for day one results:

http://www.coolrunning.com/results/08/ma/Dec27_MSTCAB_set1.shtml

And here for day two:

http://www.coolrunning.com/results/08/ma/Dec28_MSTCAB_set1.shtml

News - Catholic Memorial Invite

http://www.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=104&do=news&news_id=3940

Team results from yesterday's CMIs at Franklin Park.

Varsity Race

10. AJ Rossi- 16:20

14. Masse- 16:34

19: Keiran- 16:39

24. Halpin- 16:48

40. Murtagh- 17:06

56. Flanagan- 17:38

Team-wise, we finished tied for second with Pinkerton Academy and Methuen, but by virtue of the tiebreaker (sixth man), we placed fourth overall in the D1 Race. We had 107 points total. Bishop Guertin of New Hampshire had only 63 points (keep in mind we were second!). So, yeah, they dominated taking three of thge top five spots (first, second and fifth). For complete results, visit http://www.coolrunning.com/results/08/ma/Oct18_49thAn_set3.shtml

I am not wrong with AJ, he was given Gallo's number because his number was given to a freshman, so Gallo is listed as tenth, but AJ really took tenth.

Freshman Race

18. Andrew Katz- 11:19

64. Jake Smith- 12:04

Uh, that's really all that's worth mentioning to be honest. This race wasn't scored I think, because the results don't show team scores (to be honest, that's probably good news for us...) If you really want to see complete results (you don't), click the above link and then click on Freshman Boys near the top.

News - SJP vs. Catholic Memorial @ Bradley Palmer

http://www.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=104&do=news&news_id=3905

Results from yesterday's dual meet vs. CM:

1. Mike Masse 16:33- SJP (#5 on school records at Bradley Palmer)

2. Colvin 16:38- CM

3. AJ Rossi 16:41- SJP (top 10 in school records)

4. Lakis 16:43- CM

5. Brian Keiran 17:07- SJP

6. Ben Halpin 17:17- SJP

7. Tim Murtagh 17:23- SJP

8. J Gallo 17:38- SJP

9. Jarrett Harrigan 17:59- SJP

Team Scores (Not positive, this is from memory...)

SJP- 22, CM- 37

With this victory we win the Catholic Conference with a 4-0 record! If I'm not mistaken Xaverian took second in the conference, and after that I'm not sure. I think CM was last, with no wins, and that leaves BC High and MC in the middle, and I can't be sure there. This begs the question: why doesn't the Catholic Conference have a website? The Catholic Conference Classic will be held on the 25th at Franklin Park with EMASS D1 Meet two weekends following that on November 8 (MSTCA the week after CCC, but I don't think top seven is going to that...)
