Blog - A Spoonful of Life

http://www.runnerspace.com/profile.php?member_id=62&do=blogs&blog_id=446

Each individual has there own view on life and how we "should" be living each day. I truly believe that we should not take a day for granted. It's such a cliché saying but it is nothing but true, we have no idea what the future holds. Whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring down, the day is still occurring and it should be embraced for all that it's worth. People deal with struggles everyday. Your hot coffee spills onto your new white shirt or you hear of a death in the family. No matter how drastic it is, there will always be something to learn from it. The hardest part about dealing with struggles is realizing that it happened, it can't be taken back and the only thing you can do is learn from it. I once heard a quote that said something along the lines of this "later on in life, mistakes are what people call experience." This is very true in my eyes because you can learn from every experience and experience comes from both good and BAD things that have happened in your life. Experiences make you a stronger person than you were the previous day. When there's a time in your life and things are getting hard, it can be difficult to realize what can come from it. The better person can overcome these things, learn from them, move on and sometimes even forget what happened. My point in writing this is that each person has there own spoonful of life, metaphorically speaking, that was created just for them. Some may go for the sweeter part and have a spoon full of berries, others may have a bitter outlook and be less satisfied with there "spoon" so to speak. Take a look at what your spoon has on it and see if it was all worth it. Eliminate the bad and make room for the good. No one should hold onto the past struggles forever. So you tell me, is your spoonful worth living for?

Blog - Ahh...The Joys of Throwing :)

http://www.runnerspace.com/profile.php?member_id=62&do=blogs&blog_id=265

So I’ve finally reached the point in my training for Javelin where I am starting to bring up the intensity some and believe me I am feeling the pain from this lovely sport. You can never deny the days where you roll out of bed and convince yourself that you have traveled to the future and have now become 30 years older. Those first couple steps of absolute soreness tend to get the best of you. You come to discover muscles that you didn't think you had anymore...I find that this thought crosses my mind often, especially when I am getting back in the swing of things.

Then come the questionable others.."can smaller girls really throw anything that far?" The opportunity has arrived for me to prove to everyone that smaller girls can be good at throwing instead of getting the typical shocked look on there faces when I share with others that I am a thrower. I don't really consider myself a "weakling" and I think others are beginning to realize that as well. Then the next question asked is almost always "well...how far do you throw?" with doubt in their voices. Granted I’m no record holder but I can hit some good marks.

I can’t wait to see what this season has in store for me!!
