Devil Takes the Hind Most 800's

 

In this workout, we did an approximately 800m loop. No specified pace. No individual directives to the athletes. The only thing they were told was that the last person to finish each rep was done with the 800's.

 

After an athlete was eliminated from the 800's, they then did hard 350-400m straights on the grass and jogged back. You continued to do this for the duration of the workout for the others. So, in this case there were 12 people to start, so the last two men standing did 11x800m. The first person out did 1x800m and 10x400m... second person out did 2x800m and 9x400m... etc.

 

This workout is a good way to help create some competitiveness, help teach strategy, and give the more MD types a chance still. We probably took about 1:30-2:00 rest between reps.
