There wasn't much excitement from the women's 400m heats with only 1 athlete being eliminated after a DNS.

2004 Olympic Champ Jeremy Wariner looked to be in good form easily winning his heat and has the fastest qualifying time by more than a quarter second.
Saturday field event winners:

Men's Weight Throw - Thomas Freeman - Nike/NYAC - 23.51m
Men's Long Jump - Jeremy Hicks - Unattached - 7.99m
Women's Weight Throw - Gwendolyn Berry - Nike/NYAC - 24.70m
Men's High Jump - Dusty Jones - 2.25m
Women's Pole Vault - Jenn Suhr - 5.02m WORLD RECORD
Women's Long Jump - Janay Deloach - 6.80m

For the most part it looked like most of the big dogs won.
Quick recap from yesteday's distance events:

Chelsea Reilly literally (ok it wasn't her fault) took down Emily Infield and Lisa Uhl in the women's 3000m. The ladies ran a blistering last lap of 30 seconds!

Will Leer dominated the men's 300m winning by 14 seconds over Ben Bruce. Tommy Schmitz was third.

All the favorites in the women's 800m advanced with Ajee Wislon and Katie Mackey winning their respective heats.

The only casualty of the men's 800m heats was Olympic Trials finalist Mark Wieczorek who was bounced out on time.
Don't forget that select event from #USAIndoors will be available LIVE on RunnerSpace at 1:45pm EST today!
That's a wrap for today in ABQ! We'll be back tomorrow at 1:45 PM Eastern #usaindoors
Suhr bails out on third attempt at 5.07m but she's got the world record at 5.02!
