This August Wilsonville High School will be hosting the Night Race to start off the XC season and an open race for parents, coaches, and whoever else wants to run.
Packets: Will be available at the main entry gate. Numbers, Maps, Pins, and Rosters. Coaches Passes.
Open Race: 6:30 PM, $10 entry fee. Registration is at the main gate and will open at 5 PM. This race is open to all Non-H.S. runners/joggers/shufflers who want to enter.
Races: 7 PM – 11 PM(ish): All races are 3k to allow runners to race at end of the season paces to start the year and to have a friendly start to the year for new runners. Think music, grandstand viewing for the entire course, and racing under the lights. Each runner will finish by sprinting the last 100M down the middle of the Football field as they watch their time on the scoreboard. The time schedule might be delayed if the heat index is above allowable levels.
Divisions: We do need folks to utilize both the Novice and Elite Divisions to help balance the size of the races. Thank you for your cooperation. Check out last year's results for guidance. WE NEED TO HAVE FOLKS USE THE ELITE DIVISION TO KEEP THE RACES TO A MANAGEABLE SIZE.
Grade Divisions: 9th to 12th.
Novice Division: New Runners, Friendly Pace Runners, as well as anybody who will be 15ish minutes and more.
Elite: Every team should enter their top 2 - 10 in the Elite race depending on your team’s depth. Boys 10.30 and girls 12.45 and under will not be gapped in this race.
Warm-up Area: Turfed Baseball fields can be used for warm up if you need to use turf to warm up as well as all the sidewalks around the top of the bowl and school. The Track and Main Field must remain clear in order for us to time the event and ensure safety.
Entry Fee: $150.00 per team. Your entry is NOT secured until your team’s entry fee has been received. $10.00 for the open race.
Spectators: $ 5 entry fee for Adults, $ 2 for H.S. students, Athletes must have on their race numbers to avoid being charged entry.
Portland Running Company will again be selling spikes and running shoes at the meet. Good way to save your team one more trip to the store.
Course: Starts and finishes on the turf football (Cross-Country) field and is primarily run on the turf soccer and baseball complex. There is a 150 M stretch of pavement that is run twice during the race. You should not wear spikes. We will have a lead biker for all races. The course will be well-marked and is spectator friendly.
Facilities: We will have use of all athletic facilities. Bathrooms, Concessions, Locker rooms, and showers will be available.
Busses: Please have your busses drop you off in the Boeckman Creek Parking Lot, just passed the main H.S. entrance if coming from Interstate 5. Your busses should park off-site and pick you up when you are done. There is lots of parking at Memorial Park, Lamb's thriftway parking lot, the movie theatre, Fry's etc. If you bus stays in our lot, they must park in the bus loading zone in front of the H.S.
Timing and meet entry: Meet entry will be done on athletic.net and is due by 10 PM on Tuesday before the meet. Open race registers at the race site starting at 5 PM. You do NOT have to tell us about drops or changes in race division. Adds(we would be happier if a kid ran with a non-attending runners number of the same GENDER, and then fixing on athletic.net later).
Looks like some clean-up work required to those results, with some duplications and some results from last year in the results (or a new super-senior policy by the OSAA). However, it is great to see the results. Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski looks to be healthy again. Ella Donaghu looks strong and several other good runs.
Not to detour the thread, but Portland Catholic Preview meet results are up as well. http://www.athletic....?Meet=79255#157
