Hayden Hooper from Bountiful won the Class 5A boys cross country final in 15:07.3, pulling away steadily over the final mile to win by nearly half a minute at the Utah state championships at Sugar House Park. 

Edward Stout led Taylorsville to the Class 5A boys team title with his second place finish in 15:34.7 on Wednesday on the 3-mile course layout at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City. 

Aidan Neal from Alta, a junior, ran a time of 15:35.8 to finish third in the Class 5A boys cross country final at the Utah state championships at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City. 

Adria Favero from Olympus placed third in the Class 5A girls cross country final in a time of 17:44.0 on Wednesday at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Bridget Smit from Brighton ran to a fourth place finish at the Utah Class 5A girls cross country final in a time of 17:54.2 and was the fastest ninth grader in the entire two-day meet at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City.

Lily Alder from Timpview finished second behind her teammate Jane Hedengren in 17:21 to help the team win its second consecutive team championship at the Utah state cross country championships.
