Maria Carrillo CA juniors Pierce Kapustka and Colton Swinth took the top two spots in the elite section of the boys 1,600 meters at the 12th Dublin Distance Fiesta at Dublin High. Kapustka, who took 20th last year, won the race in 4:22.97 and Swinth, the 18th-place finisher last season, clocked 4:23.46 to earn the two automatic berths to compete April 5-6 at the Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High.
