Eric Gibson Wins Men's Invitational 800 In 1:49.71 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Photo by Emma Calimag-Sisson/OSU Athletics (from Friday) Maddie Mooney and Anna Connor, newcomers to the Pacific Athletics post-collegiate group based in Corvallis, finished first and second in the invitational women's 800 meters on Saturday at the OSU High Performance Meet. Mooney won the race in 2:05.87 and Connor was next in 2:06.09. Oregon State's Jillian Brown ran the second-fastest 800 in program history while taking third in 2:06.47. Eric Gibson (unattached) won the men's invitational 800 meters in 1:49.71, just ahead of Oregon's Will Heslam, who was second with 1:50.24. Elizabeth Beiswanger of Puget Sound won the women's 400 in a time of 56.22 seconds. Teammate Avery Keith won the men's 400 in 48.26. Oregon State's Jada Hurley won the 100 meters in 11.93 seconds. Oregon's Mihaly Akpamgbo ran 10.73 to win the men's 100. Western Washington won the men's 4x400 in 3:09.91, good for 15th on the NCAA D2 list this spring. Isabelle Esler led a 1-2-3 finish for OSU in the women's javelin with 173-1. Idaho's Mia Sylvester won the women's shot put with 47-9. The Vandals' Noah Cuthbertson won the men's shot with 57-1.50. Ella Seelhoff from Eastern Washington won the women's 100-meter hurdles in 15.01. Tate Herber from Western Oregon won the men's 110 hurdles with 14.69. |
