The University of Portland women’s cross country team raced to a second place finish at the 2011 Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational hosted at Baylands Regional Park on Saturday. The Pilots posted a team score of 100, only six points behind meet winner Long Beach State, among a field of 21 teams at the 5K event. Merel Van Steenbergen and Marit Tegelaar posted top 10 individual finishes to lead Portland.
