Lucy Landsbaum, Micah Gutman, Kendall Contie, Sofia Tapia, JiaLian Mackey, Erin Beazley and Ella Katz led Viewpoint to its first CIF Southern Section Division 5 girls cross country team title with a 63-79 victory against Xavier Prep at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Mackey placed second on the 2.93-mile course in 18:12.3, Gutman secured sixth in 18:44.9, Katz finished 16th in 20:00.9, Beazley was 24th in 20:21.9, with Conte (21:06.7) and Tapia (21:13.3) taking 35th and 36th, respectively. Landsbaum was 41st in 21:25.1 for the Patriots, who advanced to the Nov. 26 state final at Woodward Park in Fresno.
